In the Wokingham area, there is a need for the provision of emergency food parcels for some families who, for various and often complex reasons, are experiencing difficult times, sometimes before other state benefits come through. As a church, we have been involved in meeting this need. Families are checked via charities working in conjunction with the local council and the request for an emergency food parcel comes from their charity key worker, rather than the recipient.

We have now delivered many food parcels in the Wokingham area. The families concerned often have children and are really grateful as it made such a difference to them coping. There is a growing need and we would love to see more people involved in contributing food items for this project.

If you would like to help you will find, at the back of the church, a list of food that makes up each parcel. If you can contribute any of these items on a regular basis please sign the list. There will be a drop-off box for food contributions in the foyer each week. Food will then be added to parcels and dropped off to the relevant families as needed. If you have any further questions, please email Nicki Bennett, who is the project co-ordinator at nicolahope@hotmail.com or contact Keith Saynor on 0118 9619876
